A Catalan coproduction will compete at the Oscars

The members of the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences in Argentina voted today "Infancia clandestina", directed by BenjamÝn ┴vila and starred by Ernesto Alterio, Natalia Oreiro and CÚsar Troncoso, to compete for the Best Foreign Language Film award at the Oscars, which will take place on February in Los Angeles.á "Infancia clandestina" defeated important movies such as "Elefante Blanco", directed by Pablo Trapero and starred by Ricardo DarÝn, Armado Bo's "El ˙ltimo Elvis" and Ana Piterbarg's "Todos tenemos un plan", with Viggo Mortensen. The film has been coproduced by the Catalan production company AntÓrtida Produccions, which this year has gathered positive reviews at prestigious festivals such as Cannes, Toronto and Donostia, and has won the "Best Feature Film" award at the Unasur International Festival. "Infancia clandestina" will also be screened at the Huelva Film Festival and at the Tallinn Black Nights. Wanda Visiˇn is in charge of the distribution in Spain. The premiŔre will be on December 21th.
