Comtes. L’origen de Catalunya

The demand for Catalan sovereignty goes back to the 9th century, which marked the beginning of a crucial period in Catalonian history. The process undertaken by the first Catalan counts to achieve independence from the Carolingian empire is the subject of a docuseries called ‘Comtes’.

Written by Carles Porta and Albert Sánchez Piñol and directed by Carles Porta, the series chronicles the reign of four counts who succeeded each other: Guifré el Pelós, Guifré Borrell, Sunyer I, and Borrell II. It is a meticulously researched historical account.
